Choosing fields

By default, GET /games only returns each game's id and name — that keeps responses small and fast. Ask for more with fieldset:

GET /games?fieldset=developer,release_date,final_price_us,score,minified_tags&tags_limit=5
{
  "id": 292030,
  "name": "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt",
  "developers": ["CD PROJEKT RED"],
  "releaseDate": 1431918000000,
  "prices": { "us": { "finalPrice": 39.99 } },
  "historicalReviews": { "score": 96.8 },
  "minified_tags": ["Mundo abierto", "Rol", "Buena trama", "Atmosféricos", "Fantasía"]
}

Notice that fields come back with their stored names and structure: final_price_us shows up as prices.us.finalPrice, and score as historicalReviews.score.

Tips

  • minified_tags is usually what you want — tags as a plain list of names, most representative first.
  • Use tags_limit to only get each game's top N tags. tags_limit=5 is plenty for a UI.
  • Need everything about one game? GET /games/{id} returns the full record.
