How SteamVault works
SteamVault is an engine that collects the entire Steam catalog every day and makes it queryable over an API.
Tap a filter to see a real example of that data.
A flexible API engine for your projects
It's not just what you search for: you also choose what data comes back for each game, and sort everything exactly how you like.
Choose exactly what data comes back
Ask for exactly the fields you need from each game —price, reviews, tags— so the response stays fast and light.
Sort your way
Sort by any field —price, name, date, reviews— ascending or descending, shuffled, or with an order built specifically for your wishlist.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get access to the SteamVault API?
To get access to the API you need to fill out the access form.
Fill out the formDo I have to pay to use SteamVault?
There will be a free tier with limitations. In the future we will add paid plans to keep the servers running and the dataset up to date.
What data can I query?
The Steam catalog: basic info, genres, tags, categories, regional prices, reviews, release dates, Early Access, wishlist ranking and each game's images.
What's the difference with using the Steam Web API?
The Steam Web API has a limit of 200 requests every 5 minutes and is missing a lot of information. We collect data from several sources and also keep historical records that Steam doesn't provide.
How often is the data updated?
We collect Steam data every day, so what you query reflects the recent state of the catalog.
What format does the API respond in?
The API responds in JSON. With query parameters you choose which filters to apply, which fields to return and how to sort the results.
Is there a visual interface to use SteamVault?
No. For now SteamVault is only an API. We plan to add an easy-to-use dashboard and an MCP for agents down the road.
Is SteamVault related to Steam or Valve?
No. SteamVault is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Steam or Valve.
